Free Domain Health Check: Terms and Conditions

Terms applying to SealedMail's free domain health check service. Version 1.1, effective 13 June 2026.

Version 1.1 - Effective 13 June 2026. Supersedes Version 1.0 (1 June 2026): B2B restriction clause added at section 2.

These terms apply to SealedMail's free Domain Health Check. By submitting a health check request, you agree to them. They are short and written in plain English, so please read them before requesting a check.

Important - please read first. The health check is information only. SealedMail accepts no responsibility or liability for any action you take, or do not take, on the basis of the results. The results are not professional IT, legal or security advice, and they do not guarantee email deliverability or protection against fraud.

1. What the health check covers

The free health check is a point-in-time audit of one domain's email authentication setup, covering:

  • DMARC record
  • SPF record
  • DKIM (where discoverable)
  • MTA-STS policy
  • TLS-RPT record
  • BIMI record
  • Blacklist status

Results are delivered by email as a formatted certificate with a clear overall score.

2. Business-to-business service only

SealedMail's free Domain Health Check is strictly a business-to-business (B2B) service. By submitting a health check request, you confirm that you are acting for purposes relating to your trade, business, craft, or profession. The service is not available to consumers requesting a check for personal or domestic purposes, and statutory consumer protection laws (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015) do not apply. If you are a consumer, you must not use this service.

3. A snapshot, not monitoring

The health check reflects your domain's configuration at the moment it is checked. It is not ongoing monitoring, and it will not detect changes, attacks or issues that occur afterwards. Ongoing monitoring is what the SealedMail subscription service provides.

4. Reporting only

SealedMail will not fix, configure or alter any DNS setting as part of the health check. The check describes what is there; any changes are for you (or your IT provider) to make.

5. No guarantees

The health check does not guarantee that your email will be delivered, that your domain cannot be spoofed, or that you will not be the target of fraud. A good score is a positive indicator of your configuration, nothing more.

6. Turnaround

Health checks are processed manually within SealedMail's service hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00 UK time. Requests received outside service hours are processed on the next working day. Delivery is not instant and no same-day turnaround is guaranteed.

7. Your data

The details you submit (first name, business name, email address, domain name) are processed solely to produce and deliver your health check. They are not used for marketing without your consent, and you will not receive a sales follow-up. Full details, including retention periods and your rights, are in the SealedMail Privacy Policy.

8. Fair use

The health check is offered as one check per domain per request. Repeat requests for the same domain may be declined at SealedMail's discretion. SealedMail reserves the right to decline any request without explanation, for example where the requester does not appear to own or control the domain.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SealedMail excludes all liability arising from the free health check, including liability for any decision, action or inaction taken on the basis of the results. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
