Cookie Policy
How the SealedMail website uses cookies. Analytics are cookieless (Umami). No marketing or advertising cookies.
Version 1.1 - Last updated 15th June 2026
This policy explains how the SealedMail website (sealedmail.co.uk) uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage), in line with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to function correctly and, where you consent, to understand how the site is used.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the website to work and do not need your consent.
A public Ghost site with no membership functionality sets no visitor-facing cookies. This site has been verified to set no cookies on a clean visit.
Analytics and session replay (with your consent)
SealedMail uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool self-hosted on SealedMail's own UK infrastructure, to understand how the site is used (pages visited, referrer, country, device and browser type). On a sampled (around 15%) and masked basis it also uses session replay to record on-page interactions (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and masked form activity) so we can find and fix usability problems.
Umami sets no cookies and does not track you across other websites or build identifiable profiles, but the analytics script stores a small token in your browser's local storage and session replay records interactions on the page. Because these are not strictly necessary, they load only after you opt in via the consent banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics or replay scripts load at all. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the website footer. Details of the data involved are in the Privacy Policy.
Third-party cookies
- Stripe: if you subscribe, you are redirected to Stripe's checkout, which sets its own cookies for payment processing and fraud prevention. These are governed by Stripe's cookie policy: stripe.com/gb/legal/cookies-policy
- Forms: the free health check and contact forms are served from SealedMail's own self-hosted infrastructure and set no additional cookies.
Marketing cookies
SealedMail does not use marketing or advertising cookies. There is no ad tracking on this site.
Managing your choices
Analytics and session replay load only if you accept them in the consent banner. To review, change, or withdraw your choice at any time, use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page. You can also block or delete cookies and clear local storage through your browser settings at any time - see your browser's help pages for instructions.
